Let it rain.....

Horray we finally got the roof on our patio and it looks great. A few of Dan's friends come over Saturday morning and worked diligently, in and out of rain showers, to help put on the finishing touches like the roof. We can now sit in the rain and not get wet. After the roof was complete Dan made a campfire and celebrated with a beer. We took the "roofers" out for dinner as a thank you for all their hard work. Don't know why I was there, all I did was pass out the cokes and bothered them.....

My friends Visit

This is my Shannon. Her and her boyfriend came to visit me and Dan for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. We seen Santa Fe together. DC was such a champ by staying in our "Little Home" The accomadations were small but cozy. He was cool about staying here with us and not at a hotel.

We had alot of laughs together. We had dinner together with some of our friends on Saturday night and that was very fun. We went to a pizza house that was ancient. It was located right next to the "oldest house in the USA" You can actually see the hay mixed in with the adobe to make the walls.

Shannon fell in love with our new puppy. Spankey just loved Shannon and DC. We took a drive to the Rio Grande River with Spankey and she got car sick in the truck...and Shannon held her in her lap all the way home, even with the spit and drewl coming from her mouth..

Now the next exciting thing that I have to look forward to is Nikki's wedding in July. She is having a beach ceramony and just a few friends and family. Nothing big, but very special.

25th in Hawaii

Dan and I just spent one week in beautiful Ohau in the Hawaiian Islands for our 25th Wedding Annaversry. It was the best week we have had in a long time. We did alot of touring. We took a helicopter ride around the Island. We seen where Jerasic Park, 10 First Dates, Lost, Magnum PI, and several others were filmed. We even seen the port that Gilliagan and his crew took off for that 3 hour tour that lasted 3 years! We also seen Gilligans Island. We took a tour of Pearl Harbor and walked out on the SS Arizona memorial that was built over the battleship that was blow up in 1941. That kinda sent chills down my spine because the dead (a crew of 1177) are still in the ship that is sunk. Oil seeps up through to the top of the water. That is said to represent the tears of the dead. As soon as the last of the survivors (which there are still 24 left) passes away, the oil will stop coming to the top of the water. In this picture that I have posted you can see the oil on the top of the water. Also you can get a funny feeling by looking at the "Orbes" that hover ubove the sunken battleship. It is scarry. It showed up like this in the photos of the memorial. ( are ya freaked out yet?) I sure was!!!
I learned to surf,,,just ignore the sneakers and the jeans! Ha ha ha. Dan found his favorite drink that was served in a pineapple cup which was refillable! Oh No!. There is also a picture of the resort that we stayed in. It has a rainbow on the side of it.
Just plain AWSOME that is all I have left to say!!
I am already looking forward to the 50th Annaversary. I love you Dan Barney! Thanks for all the GREAT memories!

The weather was fabulous all week. It was sunny and about 82 degrees all week. Got pretty burned up. We spent alot of time walking and bar hopping. Which is the reason why I am soo fat! I look like 2- ton- tony in all the pictures of me!!! Goin on a srtick diet on Monday!!!

Another picture is of the beautiful fruit and champagne basket that awaited our arrival in the hotel room. WHAT A PERFECT SURPRISE. The basket was sent by Western Summit to honor our 25th. It had champange, fruit, candy, crakers, Kona Coffee, cheeze, and lots of other Hawaiian goodies.. Thanks so much WSCI.

Warehouse Entertainment

When the day is over we all like to relax in Dans warehouse, we spend some time enjoying life like Cantrola is doing. Just smokin on a good cigar, and havin' a few beers. Ross is playing a guitar that Mike Raybourn made out of some good wood. Dan Barney thinks that he is Kid Rock.

Hopefully the weather will soon be nice again and we can start having campfires again.

Kite flyin' Days

People around here say "why would anyone want to live in New Mexico?" Well we thought that too when one afternoon it was 70 degrees and the next morning we woke up to a snowstorm. Weather here is very unusual, however we found something that Santa Fe is great for!!!! Kite flying. We bought a kite last weekend and spent all day keeping it up in the air. It was so pretty. The wind (whick it awful here) kept it flying all day long. This week end we are going to have a kite flying contest. Dan's dragon against my McCaw. We all know that a McCaw flies better than a dragon!!
